The “Safety features” element of EUFMD (FMD2011/62/EU) and Delegated Regulation (20016/161) What Pharmacies in GB need to know and do?

by | Jan 14, 2021 | Blog, FMD

Lets start with the definition GB is now only Scotland England and Wales.  In GB pharmacies no longer need to verify and decommission “2D” barcoded packs. However it would be very prudent to check the Tamper Evident Devices  “TEDs”  which are in place on the packs to be sure they have not been tampered with.

The stand- alone FMD software can be decommissioned.

You should check that integrated software systems are not actively seeking a response from UKMVS.

Some UK wholesalers are still scanning their packs and saving the reports as the data will show them which batches of the product went to which customer however it will not verify the products as “ Active “ as before.

Testimonials

“Really enjoyed the training session over the last 3 days, John was a great presenter who did really well considering he had an audience from all over the UK…infact the world! I’m sure the face to face/classroom style presentation would have been more interactive as I certainly missed being able to bounce off others but this is no fault of John or the course contents. Learned so much from the past few days, more than I actually realised that I would. Thank you!”  February 2021… Read more
