What is an Anti-Tampering device  “ATD”?

An anti-tampering device “ATD”  is designed to be attached to all medicinal products placed on the market after the 9th of February to  aid the different stakeholders in the supply chain to check it is intact  and thus to ensure the packaging has not be opened or altered since leaving the manufacturer. Thus facilitating  “ Identification and authentication from end to end of the supply chain “

ATDs

  • The type to be used will be chosen by the manufacturer.
  • Vary from stickers to glued end flaps with perforations to bottle caps which have plastic seals .
  • Must be checked at all steps of the supply chain to ensure it is intact
  • If it is not intact the product must be held in quarantine and investigated

Testimonials

Dawn ran a very informative session about GDP guidance and the role of the Responsible Person. This helped me understand further about my role as the Responsible Person and how to stay 100% compliant according to the guidelines. I also picked up key points on what to look for when looking at potential suppliers and warehouse facilities. All together an excellent session, worth every penny!   Pharmaceutical Wholesaler Client
