Dame Diana Johnson DBE has been announced as the minister responsible for pharmacy at the Department of Health and Social Care. She is the Minister of State for Public Health and Patient Safety. The pharmacy portfolio, general practice, neighbourhood and health inequalities all fall part of her remit.
Dame Diana has served in the Department for Work and Pensions and spent time on the Health and Social Care Committee. We hope to see that the newly appointed Health Secretary Yvette Cooper and Dame Diana support the Pharmacy professions needs as the ever increasing scope of their services within the NHS, the private sector and the wider community sector develop further.
