Distant selling pharmacies warning of high-risk medication prescription

by | May 23, 2019 | Uncategorized

The GPhC- General Pharmaceutical Council published an updated guidance for distance selling pharmacies regarding authentication and verification check before supplying certain type/categories of prescription-only medicines (POMs).

This should ensure that patients only receive and being supplied safe and appropriate medication during treatment. Therefore the update means a prescriber at distant selling pharmacy should contact the patient’s GP in advance of issuing a prescription of high-risk medication.

“I found this course much more interesting and accessible than i thought it would be. Nicely paced with enough information to be challenging and thought provoking but not overwhelming. A few of the initials could do with explaining though.” Jennifer Kirby – Course Rating 9/10
