Pharmacy Involvement in the Drug Driving Campaign

by | Jan 13, 2015 | NHS

The Department of Transport is calling all pharmacies to support the new Drug Driving Campaign coming into force March 2015. The new offence has been introduced to combat the irresponsible few who continue to abuse drugs and risk the lives of themselves and others by driving under the influence, giving the police new powers to tackle the issue. Patients who take their medication as intended should not be affected by this legislation, providing the medicine does not hinder their driving capabilities.

Pharmacy teams have been asked to support the campaign by advising their patients and customers of the law changes by using information leaflets and campaign posters as well displaying campaign materials online and via social media.

Are you on board? Are you ready?
