Are you ready for the new CQC Fundamental Standards?

by | Feb 12, 2015 | CQC

The new care regulations – called the fundamental standards – will take effect from April, and so it is important that providers across the country know the sorts of things that they can do to make sure they are meeting them and also, how the CQC will use their new enforcement powers when our inspectors find out that people are not receiving the high-quality, safe and compassionate level of care that people deserve.

A key part of the new enforcement policy is the ability for the CQC to prosecute providers for poor care without having to issue a warning notice first.

The new policy will allow the CQC to act quickly in response to the seriousness of the concern.

The CQC now inspect services against the five key questions that matter most to people who use them – are they safe, caring, effective, responsive to people’s needs, and well-led. This helps the inspection teams to identify good care.

If you have any concerns about whether or not your service is meeting the fundamental services call us on 01252 302342 and one of our team will be happy to advise you.
