Summary Care Records (SCR) training.

Summary care records are a significant tool for use by community pharmacies and hospital pharmacy teams alike. Increasing patient safety and quality pharmacy services.

Preparation was long and complex from completion of the CPPE training to ensuing systems were compliant with the HSCIC Warranted Environment Specification (WES) and more!

Initially we needed a Privacy officer. Then at least two, all of which needed to attend face to face training before we could go live.

Training arranged.

Training complete (not sure why we needed face to face).

Wait to go live, and wait and wait!

Chase and eventually SCR went live. But despite filling in a wide range of forms with names, smartcard numbers both electronically and on paper not everyone pharmacist or technician went live in the pharmacy.

More chasing.

Few! It all works.

Refresher training anyone?

“SCR Community Pharmacy Implementation Team is using Eventbrite to ticket Summary Care Record Privacy Officer refresher training -(ONLINE).

Since this is the first time you’ve bought a ticket or registered for an event on Eventbrite, here’s a quick guide to help you find what you need.”

Checked to see if this was for real.

Yes, it is real!

Let’s book a space on the webinar next week. No space available until December…….it’s a webinar!

Booked.

Hold on HSCIC send out another e mail with lots of dates available. Read again and again, scratch head.

Error, it is the same training (under a different header) and still only limited dates available.

Long story. Pharmacy teams are busy. This is too complex, too much repetition, too much chasing, too much time.

Let’s make processes and training simple. I am worn out jumping through hoops to use what is a fantastic tool.
