Having been through a few MHRA inspections in the last few weeks and having watched the desperation, devastation and destruction caused by the typhoon in the Philippines this week my thoughts ran to…………. Are we so worried about the ambient temperature of a short journey of a medication to the point where we may destroy a medicine when it may be still fit for purpose?
That same medicine could help to save a life in a country which has nothing , no running water or food, let alone a fridge or electricity to store medications safely. The mother of a sick child in the Philippines would give her child the antibiotic to save their life with or without safe storage or transportation.
I have spent a few months sending dummy products to many destinations to test packaging and to validate supply chains to ensure patient safety, I would rather have been sending emergency supplies to help save a young life.
