In April 2016, NHS England confirmed it would fund a further 1,500 pharmacists to work alongside GPs.
Some CCGs now plan manage their patient’s repeats and take then away from the local pharmacies. Now we are about to see pharmacy payments slashed and clinical pharmacists based in surgeries partially funded by NHS England. It just seems to be that the pharmacist location has just changed and there is unlikely to be any savings.
If you have been working in a surgery, have you been managing patient repeats? Is it easier to carry this out in a surgery than in your pharmacy?
