When is the right time to make changes to your processes and products?

Most companies will want to make sure they are ahead of the game or at least preparing for January to minimise the impact.

It is certainly important to monitor the advice coming from both the UK government and EU agencies and assessing the risks to your business, taking mitigating actions where you can. But it is important not to make hasty decisions, the reality is that things may still change before the end of December and there is already talk of a second phase of negotiations in the new year if the current ones fail.

In most instances the UK authorities have already announced transitions periods for any regulatory changes, it is important that companies utilise these periods to make final decisions and take relevant actions, rather than taking pre-emptive action now that may need to be reversed later. There is a well known saying in carpentry; measure twice, cut once. I think you can apply the same logic here, assess and plan twice (if needed) and change once.
