Prescribers must ensure they are familiar with the legal and ethical prescribing requirements when prescribing medicinal cannabis products. Healthcare organisations and pharmacies based in the UK must ensure they are aware of the clinical and legal checks they must carry out when dispensing or administering medicinal cannabis products. Guidance was introduced by the NHS on 1 November 2018 after medicinal cannabis was legalised in the UK.
Pharmacies and retail organisations who sell CBD oils must ensure their products have a novel foods dossier to ensure that they can still sell or supply CBD products after the Food Standards deadline of 31 March 2021.
