Pharmacy Consulting have had a recent increase in the number of calls made to our offices about pharmacy contracts and the potential to:
- Obtain a new pharmacy contract
- Relocate an existing contract
- Apply to alter core trading hours
- Apply for an exempt Distance Selling contract
From the number of calls, the market seems to be or in fact wants to be active in this regard yet at the same time is unsure about recent trends and the decisions of the NHS England Local Area Teams.
We can say that the decisions are varied and there remains conjecture about the interpretation of certain criteria. Appeals data recently released by the NHS Litigation Authority also illustrates that many initial decisions have been quashed following appeal.
