Meaningful Use

Pharmacy Consulting have been watching with the interest the
American investments in “HIT “Health Information Technology, and mandatory adoption of “EHR” Electronic Health Records, and the provision of resources for the Meaningful-Use initiative, “MU”
The “MU” initiative is the terminology used to establish standards for the EHRs, and to optimise their use in all healthcare settings.

Patient centred care requires multi-disciplinary care plan models. In particular pharmacists and prescribers must work collaboratively to improve patient outcomes. Pharmacy Consulting are happy to help develop robust multidisciplinary ways of working, and feel that developing a good working relationship with your local prescribers is essential  to improve patient care. The UK, often  follows Americas lead and this model would work well in the UK. For more information on what ” Meaningful Use” means for Pharmacy in America ,and how we might follow their lead, contact Jackie@pharmacyconsulting
