New Year, New You

Yes it is that time of year again, when your conscience starts to bother you and you revisit the idea of stopping smoking. If you really want to do this then you need to be prepared and follow some top tips.

Get support. You are four times more likely to succeed if you have support from a professional. Your local pharmacist is ideally placed to help. Tell your family members and friends that you want to quit and get them behind you.

Remove temptation. Get rid of your ash trays and any cigarettes that are hanging around. Smoking is a habit so you need to break with as many of the routines you may associate with having a cigarette as possible.

Consider Nicotine replacement therapy products. You are twice as likely to succeed if you use medication. Again speak to your pharmacist.

Remember why you want to quit! Write down the reasons you want to quit and keep the list somewhere you can look at it regularly.

Keep yourself busy. This is key to success. You need to establish a new routine.
