Patient Service Obligation to help prevent medicine shortages

A public service obligation has been proposed for pharmacists, wholesalers and manufacturers to sign up to, ensuring  patients needs are put  first to  help to combat the time wasting required to ensure continuity of supply  and mitigate the risk to  patient  safety caused by  medicine shortages.  The pharmacy contract calls for a safe , quality and timely dispensing service, and pharmacist must use their professional judgement to ensure they delivery their contract and offer their patients the best robust  medicine supply  and customer service they can.
