Hacking of personal data has rocketed since 2010, and it is no longer the lone hacker sitting in his bedroom. The data loss barometer which tracks lost data found that external data leaks affected more than 160 million people in 2012 and this is an increase of 40% on the year before and over 60% was due to hacking.
