So much for all the wonders and claims of slimming tablets …

After investigation, the MHRA has recently issued alerts about a number of products found to have prescription only drug ingredients in them.  All the alerts were raised by the Hong Kong Department of Health with the MHRA noting that some of the ingredients found have been withdrawn from the EU on safety grounds.

Considering many people could easily be fooled into using these tablets based on their claims, I ask you to stop for a moment and consider the potentially life-threatening side effects.  The consequences of misuse or misinformation are potentially critical.

So next time you’re looking for that magic weight-loss formula, consider firstly that perhaps exercise and diet may be the best solution or if you are looking for a supplement ensure that the product is licensed for use in the UK and MHRA approved.  Any concerns you have can be reported to the MHRA and the right advice should always be available.

As consumers, we often trust medicines because they appear to be medicines however some basic research into what you’re about to ingest is highly recommended!

“Really enjoyed the training session over the last 3 days, John was a great presenter who did really well considering he had an audience from all over the UK…infact the world! I’m sure the face to face/classroom style presentation would have been more interactive as I certainly missed being able to bounce off others but this is no fault of John or the course contents. Learned so much from the past few days, more than I actually realised that I would. Thank you!”  February 2021… Read more
