You’re probably not old enough to remember Tomorrow’s World, a BBC science program featuring all the up and coming tech, a bit like a 1st generation Gadget Show. Anyway in the 80’s they spent a lot of time predicting how the world would look in the next Millenium, it was all metallic clothing and jet packs, no really! But the thing that has stuck in my mind was the prediction that everything would be automated, which would lead to us only having to work 3days each week to make a living!!!!
So where are we know? Well we certainly don’t have the metallic clothing or jet packs (thank goodness) but automation is a reality…….even in pharmacy!
Automation is a reality in many NHS pharmacies and increasingly large businesses are utilising robots to optimise their efficiency.
