Alcohol and its deleterious effect on the brain is not news, however the rise in alcohol consumption and the long term affects due to the lockdown and the Covid-19 pandemic is yet to be seen. But there will be no surprises if it is found that loss of brain volume and possible cognitive and functional impairment are a result of the increased alcohol consumption.
